Patriot Games (1992)   is an action thriller directed by Phillip Noyce and written by W. Peter Iliff and Donald E. Stewart. Harrison Ford stars as Jack Ryan, who intervenes in a London terrorist attack and kills a dangerous extremist. Seeking retribution, the slain attacker’s vengeful brother launches a relentless campaign against Ryan, bringing a deadly international conflict directly to his family’s doorstep. Alec Baldwin was originally slated to reprise his role from The Hunt for Red October , but his Broadway theater schedule forced Paramount to cast Harrison Ford instead. Author Tom Clancy publicly disowned the film and demanded his name be removed from marketing materials, claiming the screenplay strayed too far from his novel and that Harrison Ford was too old to play Jack Ryan. Production secured rare authorization to film scenes inside the actual CIA headquarters in Langley. 1992 • R • 1h 57m Rotten Tomatoes: 72% Holy Unknown Grade: A- Worldwide Gross: 178M Where To Watch

Inception (2010)   is a cerebral science fiction thriller written and directed by Christopher Nolan. Leonardo DiCaprio stars as Dom Cobb, an elite thief who uses specialized equipment to enter people's dreams and steal their subconscious secrets. Offered a chance to clear his name and reunite with his children, Cobb takes a high-stakes job to secretly convince a corporate heir to dissolve his father's empire. Christopher Nolan spent a decade writing the screenplay, always intending Leonardo DiCaprio for the lead, and the two worked together to deepen character motivations. Preferring physical set construction over computer graphics, production built massive real world environments. A thirty foot diameter steel hallway was built inside an airship hangar, rotating the entire structure on mechanized rollers to simulate the actors floating in zero gravity. 2010 • PG-13 • 2h 28m Rotten Tomatoes: 86% Holy Unknown Grade: A Worldwide Gross: 839M Where To Watch

The Front Runner (2018)   is a political drama directed by Jason Reitman and written by Matt Bai, Jay Carson, and Reitman, adapted from Bai’s book All the Truth Is Out . Based on a true story, the narrative details the 1988 presidential campaign of Senator Gary Hart (Hugh Jackman), whose clear path to the Democratic nomination abruptly collapses following media scrutiny over his extramarital affair with Donna Rice (Sara Paxton), placing severe strain on his marriage to Lee Hart (Vera Farmiga). The Gary Hart ordeal is widely seen as the pivotal moment American political journalism shifted from policy coverage to tabloid sensationalism.  The late night alleyway confrontation between Hart and Miami Herald reporters was filmed at the actual Washington, D.C. townhouse where the 1987 media stakeout occurred. The film was shot on vintage 35mm film stock to replicate the grainy visual texture of late-eighties news photography. The entire production was completed on a tight 43-day sho...
