AI tool shows promise in early diagnosis of autism

Autism detection is being revolutionized by artificial intelligence (AI) technology, which has shown promise in identifying autism spectrum disorder (ASD) at an early stage. Researchers have developed an AI model that analyzes behavioral patterns, such as facial expressions and voice tones, to assess the likelihood of ASD. The AI tool could lead to earlier diagnoses, helping children receive the support they need sooner.

The AI model was tested in a real-world setting where it successfully identified signs of autism in children who had not yet been formally diagnosed. For example, the AI was able to detect subtle differences in eye movements and speech patterns that are often early indicators of ASD. This advancement in AI technology holds significant potential for improving the accuracy and timeliness of autism diagnosis, especially in young children.
