Time travel possible using Tipler cylinders?

Time travel might be possible using Tipler cylinders, gigantic rotating tubes proposed by physicist Frank Tipler. These cylinders would need to be infinitely long and rotate at incredibly high speeds to create intense gravitational fields capable of bending spacetime, potentially allowing someone to travel back in time. Although this theory is fascinating, building and powering such a structure presents immense practical challenges.

Researchers are intrigued by the possibilities Tipler cylinders present but acknowledge significant obstacles. Creating a cylinder that is both infinitely long and capable of the necessary rotation speed is beyond current technological capabilities. Additionally, the energy required to maintain such a structure would be astronomical. Despite these hurdles, the study of Tipler cylinders offers valuable insights into the nature of spacetime and the potential for time travel, keeping the scientific community's interest piqued.
