What's the status of Ukraine?

As of late 2024, the war between Ukraine and Russia continues to be a grinding and protracted conflict, with neither side achieving decisive gains. Russia has focused on consolidating control over parts of Eastern Ukraine, while Ukraine, bolstered by Western military support, particularly from the U.S. and NATO, is trying to reclaim occupied territories. Ukraine's counteroffensive has faced significant hurdles, such as heavily fortified Russian positions and extensive minefields, which have slowed progress and raised questions about its ultimate success. Although the conflict remains fluid, many analysts suggest that, militarily, the war is a stalemate, with neither side emerging as a clear victor at this stage.
